Who We Are
About Us
Helping The Hopeless
Helping the Hopeless is a community-focused 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing essential support and resources to individuals and families facing hardship throughout the Antelope Valley and surrounding communities.
Our mission is to restore hope, strengthen communities, and ensure that no individual or family goes without the basic necessities needed to live with dignity. Through strategic partnerships, community engagement, and resource distribution, we work to bridge the gap between those who have resources and those who urgently need them.
Founded by Emerald Burke, a longtime Antelope Valley resident, Helping the Hopeless was built on a deep commitment to serving the community and responding to real needs seen throughout the region. What began as grassroots outreach has grown into an organization focused on delivering practical assistance and expanding access to vital resources for underserved populations.

Operation Hydration Antelope Valley
Helping the Hopeless is launching the Summer Water Relief Campaign 2026 to provide life-saving hydration and summer essentials to unhoused individuals, low-income families, seniors, veterans, and vulnerable residents throughout Palmdale, Lancaster, the Antelope Valley, and surrounding communities during the extreme summer heat.
From June 1 through August 31, our goal is to collect and distribute 50,000 bottles of water, along with additional summer relief supplies including electrolyte drinks, hygiene kits, cooling towels, sunscreen, hats, and nonperishable snacks.
With temperatures in the Antelope Valley often reaching dangerous triple digits, access to clean drinking water becomes a critical need for many individuals living on the streets or struggling with limited resources. Through community partnerships, outreach events, churches, businesses, volunteers, and donations, Helping the Hopeless aims to bring hydration, hope, dignity, and compassion directly to those most impacted by the summer heat.
This campaign is more than water — it is a community-wide mission to protect lives, restore hope, and remind people that they are not forgotten.
Our Summer 2026 Goal:
• 50,000 Bottles of Water
• 10,000+ Bottles Per Month
• Approximately 544 Bottles Per Day
• Serving the Entire Antelope Valley Region
“The heat is real. So is our mission.”
You are not here simply to exist or make a living. You are here to serve, to bring light, hope, and purpose into the lives of others. When we use our gifts to uplift those around us, we help create a world filled with greater compassion, stronger communities, and renewed hope for those who need it most.
